Ingredients
- Yellow peas Si Facile well rinsed and drained - 1 jar of 500 ml
- Onion, diced - 1
- Finely chopped garlic cloves - 4
- Finely chopped hot pepper - 1
- Large diced tomato - 1
- Coconut milk - 3/4 cup
- Finely chopped ginger - 1 tbsp
- Cumin - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric - 1 tbsp
- Garam masala - 1 tbsp
- Salt and pepper - to taste
- Butter (or olive oil) - 2 tbsp
- Plain Greek yogurt - for serving
- Coriander leaves - for serving
- Grilled vegetables (eggplant, cauliflower, etc.) - for serving
- Cooked rice - for serving
Preparation
- In a frying pan, brown the onion in the butter. Add the garlic and continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add chili pepper, ginger, cumin, turmeric and garam masala. Mix well.
- Add the tomato, coconut milk and yellow peas. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Simmer covered for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the lid for the last 10 minutes. Adjust the seasoning.
- Serve over rice with yogurt, grilled vegetables and coriander. Enjoy!
